This isn't just a dust collector - it's a rare find of a Russian Dolomite and Calcite carving that was actually done before the collapse of the U.S.S.R.  Each one will come in it’s original box and many have a “Made in USSR” tag on the box.  All this and the fact that it is adorable make it not only collectible but a great knick knack and conversation piece.  Each one is hand carved and polished natural material.  The calcite is yellowish brown and has flash like cat’s eye.  Dolomite Egg Box with Calcite Bird Head (Average Overall Height 3 1/4”).  December 26, 1991, marked the official dissolution of the U.S.S.R. and meant freedom for the satellite countries bordering Russia.  These adorable carvings, which were almost certainly done before this, represent a good memory of this triumph of freedom.
