The 12 string VSA500 is fitted with a pair of Wilkinson® WOCHB hum cancelling pickups delivering exceptional clarity and versatility whilst capturing the natural, melodic 12 string chime, coupled with an airy woodiness from the hollow, maple body construction.

As most guitar players will be aware, one of the original ideas behind semi-hollow guitars was to deliver the acoustic properties of archtop guitars at louder volumes with reduced feedback, this is where all models in the Vintage VSA500 Series shine.

VSA500CR-12 Features:

Body:
Maple body with maple top provides resonance, tone and ‘correct weight’ comfort. The VSA500 features Vintage's unique, offset double cutaway evolutionary body shape, ingeniously-designed offset heel and enhanced treble side cutaway to improve upper fret access and playability.

Bridge:
Wilkinson T.O.M. bridge provides superb tuning stability along with adjustable intonation for each string.

Pickups:
Two Wilkinson Vintage Voiced WOCHB double coils provide thick and rich tones.

Controls:
Dual master Volume and Tone pots with three position pickup selector switch.

Machine heads:
Wilkinson with Ivory button machine heads provide simple, effective action for superb tuning stability.

Neck:
One piece Mahogany with classic Vintage ‘soft C’ profile for instant comfort, speed, accuracy and great feel.

Fingerboard:
12" radius Rosewood fingerboard provides positive feel and superior playability.

Scale Length:
24.75" / 628mm.

Frets:
22 Medium Jumbo profile frets add to comfort, accuracy and overall positive feel of the Vintage VSA500.

Nut:
43mm Graphtech NuBone for smooth and friction-free string bending and tuning.

Headstock:
Classic Vintage headstock design for balance and visual appeal.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
