Our Lamb & Rosemary Sausages are a tasty sausage cooked in a traditional English style. They contain minced lamb, water, salt, rosemary, mineral salts and natural pork casings. They are gluten free and dairy free. There are no added ingredients containing allergens.
Why our sausages are “clean” & what is sausage meal?
Because our family loves sausages, we have made a significant effort to create clean sausages that not only we feel good about but we eat regularly ourselves. Almost all other sausages for sale contain sausage meal, although many have no labelling to show it. The sausage meal is largely responsible for the texture of the sausage and to bind and hold the sausage together. It is what gives the sausage a somewhat spongey feeling.
AT STOCKMAN STEAKS WE NEVER USE SAUSAGE MEAL IN OUR CLEAN SAUSAGES
Sausage meal often includes the following ingredients.
- Binders / Fillers: Breadcrumbs, butcher’s rusk from breadcrumbs and flour.
- Vegetable oils and seed oils.
- Grains / Starches: Rice, pasta, polenta or bread.
- Soy protein, pea protein or seitan (wheat gluten).
At Stockman Steaks, we are gluten free, allergen free, nitrate free, nitrite free, sulphite free and preservative free. Our sausages are no exception. They may not be as colourful as other sausages (thank goodness) but we hope you will appreciate the taste, quality and health difference.
Regular salt used
The salt used is natural sea salt (sodium chloride) suitable for human consumption.
Produced in Australia by solar evaporation, harvested and refined in accordance with good manufacturing practice, under HACCP and SQF Code (L3) system, verified by BSI.
It complies with Standards 2.10.2 (salt and salt products) of the Food Standards Code Australia New Zealand, Volume 2. It is non GMO.
Mineral salts used
The mineral salts are derived from potassium and sodium. They are either potassium pyrophosphate, sodium pyrophosphate or sodium acid pyrophosphate. There is no cupric sulphate used.
