Discover the remarkable journey of European expansion with 'Outsourcing Empire'. This groundbreaking book unveils how chartered company-states, rather than sovereign nations, were pivotal in shaping the first truly global order from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Dive into the narrative as authors Andrew Phillips and J. C. Sharman explore the hybrid nature of company-states, which were formidable multinational trading organizations with charters that granted them sovereign powers of war, peace, and governance.Learn about iconic entities like the English and Dutch East India Companies that established vast corporate empires across Asia, North America, Africa, and the South Pacific. This comparative analysis details the rise and decline of these incredible company-states, discussing why some thrived while others faltered, and their integral role as forerunners of capitalism and imperialism.
The book also highlights how these company-states bridged cultural and geographical divides, navigating complex encounters with diverse civilizations. With a focus on power, profit, and geopolitics, 'Outsourcing Empire' reveals how these entities were essential in fulfilling Europe's expansive ambitions during a time of emerging globalization. Perfect for history enthusiasts and those keen on understanding modern capitalism's roots, this is essential reading for anyone interested in the intricate interplay of trade, diplomacy, and imperialism in shaping the modern world.

Who doesn't love a unicorn?
Size: 2T, Color: Pink/Unicorn
Cute set but runs a bit big in my opinion for a size 2T. My grandbaby is tall for her age (22 months), but the pants were really long and loose on her, granted she's not chunky, so factor that in. Overall, it's a nice set and the material is soft (especially the pants) and seems like it would keep the little ones warm.

Exactly as pictured. Good quality, not too thin but also not too thick. True to size and looks like it will keep my baby warm when she’s inside. Good price on sale! Was a steal!
