🔍 Key Details & Composition

• Pharmacy bulk package designed for aseptic preparation of parenteral admixtures. Not intended for direct IV infusion because it is hypotonic and may cause hemolysis if infused without proper dilution

• pH ranges from approximately 5.0–7.0 (typically ~5.5), with an osmolarity of 0 mOsmol/L

• Made from distilled/sterile water and free from latex, DEHP, or PVC

• Primary use: Diluent or solvent in pharmacy and clinical settings for compounding IV drugs, parenteral nutrition, and other sterile mixtures

• Important safety note: Must be made isotonic—by adding solutes or combining with appropriate IV fluids—before any parenteral administration. Direct infusion can lead to red blood cell lysis and kidney injury

⚠️ Warnings & Precautions

• Not for direct IV use in its current form due to hypotonicity and risk of hemolysis 

• Contains trace levels of aluminum (~≤25 µg/L). Prolonged administration, especially in premature infants or patients with renal impairment, may pose toxicity risks

• Inspect for clarity and seal integrity before use. Discard if discolored, cloudy, or if the container is compromised

• Once opened, maintain at room temperature (≤ 25 °C) and use within 4 hours.
