Sodium Alginate

It’s a key ingredient for keto egg noodles and popping boba as it makes the mixture thicken and react to the calcium water bath to set and form the food creations.

It is a molecular food gastronomy ingredient – using chemistry and physics to make edible culinary creations. It is used along with Calcium Lactate / Calcium Chloride to achieve spherification. Fascinating and totally fun to see this happen!

Plus it's the active ingredient in reflux medication and works by
1) activating with the acid in the stomach to form a gel like foam. This creates a physical "Raft" Barrier that floats on top of the stomach contents, acting as a physical lid to prevent acid, pepsin, and bile from refluxing upward.
2) It targets the acid pocket at top of the stomach, neutralising the pH, preventing highly acidic fluid from immediately entering the esophagus.
3) It forms a protective, viscous coating on the esophageal lining giving it protection, reducing inflammation.
It begins acting quickly and the raft lasts for several hours, providing protection through the "postprandial" (after-meal) high-risk period.
Take it 15–30 minutes after meals and before bedtime to cap the acid pocket.

Pricing and Supply
Globally there is a shortage of Sodium Alginate - probably due to the sheer numbers of people making keto noodles and popping boba : ) This ingredient has been difficult to source here in a food grade. So beware of industrial grades, they are not suitable for consumption and are very bitter tasting.

Perfect for my company's temporary needs
Color: Gray, Size: 72" wide, 66" Tall
My company ordered multiples of these dividers to separate desks in much smaller temporary space we had to use after our offices were flooded in August 2023. (Yeah, I know - just getting around to reviewing them now!) These fit the bill perfectly. Granted a bit of privacy so we weren't staring at the employee next to us. Easy to put together; excellent value.

Okay for privacy, not a sound wall
Color: Gray, Size: 72" wide, 66" Tall
Ordered this for a home office, it is easy to put the panels together, one man job. They look nice, stand up well, and gave privacy and seperation. You can tack a white board to them. These panels have absolutely no sound reducing properties that I can ascertain, so if you are ordering them as 'accoustic" type panels you will probably be disappointed. For making a cubicle they perform well.
