The 38-154 features Freud’s revolutionary Quadra-Cut™ design, which utilizes four cutting edges instead of the standard two. The two large up-shear cutters rapidly remove the bulk of the material, while the two smaller down-shear cutters perform a finishing pass to produce an ultra-smooth, splinter-free surface that requires little to no sanding. Protected by Freud’s exclusive Red Perma-SHIELD® Non-Stick Coating, the bit resists heat buildup, corrosion, and pitch accumulation. Pro-Tip: Because this is a larger diameter bit (1-1/2") on a thinner 1/4" shank, it is critical to adhere to the maximum RPM rating (16,000 RPM) to prevent shank deflection. For the cleanest results, make two passes: a heavy roughing cut followed by a light finishing cut.
