The ServSwitch Single DVI Fiber Optic KVM Extender is the ideal solution for extending keyboard, video, and mouse control over long distances with uncompromising clarity. Engineered for mission-critical environments—data centers, control rooms, laboratories, and security centers—this extender leverages single-mode fiber to carry a complete KVM signal path far beyond traditional copper limits. It supports DVI-D video up to 1920 x 1200, USB keyboard and mouse, and a dual-access design that empowers a single operator to control the remote system from multiple locations. With robust build quality, low latency, and EMI immunity thanks to fiber, this product delivers dependable performance and flexible deployment for demanding workflows.

  • Long-distance mastery: Extends keyboard, mouse, and DVI-D video signals up to 6.2 miles (about 10 kilometers) over single-mode fiber, enabling you to separate your control room from your server room without sacrificing signal integrity. This fiber-based solution thrives in environments with significant electrical interference, existing fiber infrastructures, or campus installations where copper cabling is impractical. The result is consistent image quality, stable color reproduction, and reliable performance at extended reach, even in challenging rack installations or facilities with complex floor plans.
  • High-resolution video support: With support for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, the extender preserves image sharpness and text clarity for dashboards, maps, engineering drawings, multi-window telemetry, and surveillance feeds. The DVI-D path provides precise color fidelity, accurate rendering of graphics, and minimal artifacts over the long fiber link, ensuring operators don’t miss critical details during monitoring or analysis. Whether you’re presenting detailed schematics or monitoring high-resolution feeds, this system keeps visuals crisp across the entire distance.
  • USB keyboard and mouse extension: The USB interface travels with the video signal, enabling standard USB HID peripherals to operate seamlessly at the remote end. Expect reliable cursor control, accurate keystrokes, and straightforward plug-and-play setup with minimal driver requirements. The system is designed to minimize input latency, which is essential for precise control in tasks such as live diagnostics, software development, remote management, and command-and-control operations.
  • Dual-access for a single user: The dual-access design gives a single operator the flexibility to control the remote system from more than one location, enhancing redundancy and operational efficiency. This is ideal for operators who need quick local access beside the server room and convenient remote access from a secondary control area. The setup supports smoother workflows, reduces travel time, and improves uptime by enabling seamless failover and alternate-control paths without adding complexity.
  • Plug-and-play integration with a rugged KVM path: Designed to slot into existing KVM workflows with minimal steps, the transmitter connects to the host PC and the receiver connects to the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, with the two units linked via fiber. This compact, durable, plug-and-play path scales with your environment, reduces cable clutter, and supports future expansion as your fiber network grows. Built for enterprise environments, it maintains stable performance across typical data-center conditions and supports continuous operation with reliable long-distance connectivity.

How to install Black Box ServSwitch Single DVI Fiber Optic KVM Extender, USB, Single-Mode

  • Step 1 – Prepare your host and display: Connect the host computer’s USB and DVI-D outputs to the transmitter unit. Ensure the host is powered on and configured to output the desired resolution. Verify that the display is ready to receive a connected signal.
  • Step 2 – Prepare the remote workstation: Connect the monitor to the receiver’s DVI-D input and plug the keyboard and mouse into the USB ports on the receiver. Confirm that the peripherals respond correctly to basic input commands before establishing the fiber link.
  • Step 3 – Link with fiber: Run a single-mode fiber optic cable between the transmitter and receiver. Ensure the fiber connectors are securely seated and properly terminated to minimize insertion loss. Check for any physical obstructions or bending that could impact signal integrity.
  • Step 4 – Power and test: Apply power to both the transmitter and receiver units. Power-on tests should show a stable link and functional keyboard/mouse input with the video displayed on the remote monitor. If needed, adjust the display settings to reach the target resolution (up to 1920 x 1200).
  • Step 5 – Validate operation and optimize: Use the dual-access capability to verify local and remote control paths. Confirm that switching between access points is seamless and that the user experience remains consistent across locations. Document the setup for future expansion or redeployment if your facility changes footprint.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
