Background
Transgolgin-2 (TGOLN2), also known as Golgin-45, is a coiled-coil domain-containing protein localized to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). It plays a crucial role in Golgi structure maintenance, vesicle tethering, and protein trafficking. TGOLN2 interacts with Rab GTPases and other golgins to regulate membrane dynamics and secretory pathways. Dysregulation of TGOLN2 has been linked to neurodegenerative diseases and cancer metastasis, highlighting its importance in cellular homeostasis.
