Mobilgear 600 XP 460 is an extra high-performance mineral industrial gear oil formulated for slow-speed, high-load enclosed gear drives requiring ISO VG 460 lubrication. This is the heavy-duty grade within the 600 XP Series — specified for the most demanding enclosed gearbox applications in South African mining and processing plant operations, including ball and rod mill gearboxes, bucket wheel drives, crusher main drives and large rotary equipment.
ISO 460 provides a substantially thicker protective film than ISO 320, ensuring adequate hydrodynamic lubrication at the very low shaft speeds and very high torque loads characteristic of mill drives and large industrial gearboxes. Its advanced additive system delivers outstanding extreme-pressure protection and FZG Stage 10 micropitting resistance — critical for the large, expensive gear sets in these applications where failure means extended production shutdowns.
Approved by Flender (Siemens), SEW-Eurodrive, ZF and meeting AGMA 9005-F16, DIN 51517-3, DIN 51517-4 and ISO 12925-1. For severe duty, case-hardened gearing or extended drain interval requirements at ISO 460, consider Mobilgear SHC 460 — the fully synthetic PAO alternative. Always confirm the required grade from the gearbox nameplate before ordering.
