Fleas:

Dogs and other warm-blooded pets are particularly susceptible to fleas, especially in warm climates or during summer months when temperatures and humidity are elevated. Fleas can easily jump onto your dog from other pets or the surrounding environment. Once on your pet, they use their strong hind legs to leap and then bite, which can lead to itching, hair loss, hot spots, inflamed skin lesions, and even potential skin infections. You might also notice tiny dirt-like particles on your pet, which is flea feces made from digested blood.

Female fleas can survive for a few weeks on your pet, laying between 20-30 eggs daily. While some of these eggs will hatch into larvae on your pet, others will drop off into your home, where they feed on skin flakes and other organic matter. It’s crucial for pet owners to treat both their pets and their home environments, both indoors and outdoors. We suggest using Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Flea & Tick Shampoo alongside our Richard’s Organics Premise Treatment for Fleas, which is composed of 100% natural Boric Acid.

Ticks:

Ticks are parasitic arachnids that latch onto warm hosts, like your dog, to feed. They are commonly found in wooded areas, tall grasses, and plants. Dogs that spend ample time outdoors are at a higher risk of encountering ticks. Once a tick attaches, it can burrow its mouth into the skin and feed on blood, sometimes for several days. Beyond being unpleasant, ticks pose serious health risks to both pets and humans, as they can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Babesiosis. A tick bite may also lead to anemia, joint swelling, fever, and paralysis. If you notice any signs of illness in your pet and suspect a tick bite, consult your veterinarian without delay. Always check your pet for ticks after they've been outside, especially in wooded areas.

Our dogs hurt their mouths chewing these bones
Color: Purple & Blue
I don't do a lot of reviews because I realize many are objective opinions. However, in this case I felt it was necessary to warn others. Our dogs are aggressive chewers. Their last rubber bones (not these) which we've purchased before, and recently purchased again, were destroyed quickly. Chunks of rubber came off the ends. Since those didn't hold up like they used to, I found these harder bones hoping they would last longer. They were able to gnaw into the hard plastic within a few minutes. This created sharp edges that cut their mouths. When I saw a bit of blood on the bones, I took them away from the dogs and threw them away. I wondered why they quit chewing on them after being so excited at first. Also, these are hard enough to damage a tooth.

Pups have shown zero interest in these toys….
Color: Purple & Blue
I would agree that these are indestructible being neither of my dogs have shown any interest in these at all. At this rate they should last forever…

Durable but losses interest
Color: Purple & Blue
My dog is an aggressive chewer. She was interested in this toy while it was new, but soon after lost interest. Good news is although it took a beating it did not break or splinter. If soppy toys are disposable in your house, give it a try.
