The TowerThe Tower is a gicle printed reproduction of an original paper collage by Cally Conway. "Titled after the the Tarot card, and The Tower of Babel. I was inspired by the idea of hands representing speech, communication, connection, with the powerful sun, the giver of life at the centre. "Titled after the the Tarot card, and The Tower of Babel. I was inspired by the idea of hands representing speech, communication, connection, with the powerful sun, the giver of life at the centre. The firey comets though beautiful, create a force; the sense that the structure can be toppled in flames."

The original collage has been made Cally's original lino prints which she has cut out with a scalpel and rearranged into a new composition.

A giclée print is a high quality archival print of an original artwork. This means that they can be offered at a lower price to the original work. The original piece is either photographed or scanned and printed at a specialist printers onto high quality paper. Giclée prints do not fade with time and are printed on acid free/ph neutral paper.

Image size: 26 x 29 cm.
Paper size: 35 x 35 cm.
Open edition, titled and signed.

A lover of the natural world, Cally's prints are inspired by nature and folklore. She is based in London, but is constantly drawn to the beauty of nature and its place within the world. She began producing etchings and collagraphs at art college, and came to linocut printmaking much later. She really fell in love with the process of linocut; something about the carved line as a way to translate her sketches, and to explore pattern and texture.

Gou has done it again.
Format: Paperback
I like the original text, I love the adaptation because it doesn't stray too far from it. The illustration is beautiful and sometimes gross (In a good way, I mean it's a cosmic horror about people turning into fish, maybe don't read it right before a meal or before bed.) Gou Tanabe has been working through many of H.P Lovecraft's more popular or interesting stories and this one is just about as good as the rest. The translation as always is very good throughout with only one or two "Wait, what?" moments which could have come from reading the original text differently. I definitely recommend this book and several of others from Gou Tanabe if you love cosmic horror, manga, or H.P Lovecraft.

An Eldritch Tale Deserving the Manga Treatment
Format: Paperback
One of Lovecraft's very best (and my personal favourite of his macabre tales), rendered in grotesque mana style. While it doesn't eclipse its inspiration, I thoroughly enjoyed this unique take on a classic tale.
