"An uncomplicated and easy drinking style that has white fleshed stone fruit and yellow and red apple notes on the medium bodied palate and light spice notes on the finish. A great wine for those who don’t enjoy a heavily oaked Chardonnay" The Wine Writer
Bright pale straw in appearance, this handcrafted Char-donnay exhibits classic varietal characters of ripe nectar-ine, tangelo and subtle lime citrus notes with a neatly woven thread of toasty oak adding vanilla and spice to the nose. The Palate is generous, ripe and complex but retains a zesty line of acidity that keeps the wine fresh and provides structure to support a long and satisfying finish.
Chardonnay is sourced from Sileni’s Hawke’s Bay vineyards with a range of soil types including gravels, silt and clay loam. The different characteristics of these sites provide depth and complexity of flavour in the wines.
This Chardonnay is harvested and pressed, then fermented with French oak to develop complex layers of flavour in a traditional Burgundian style. Following primary and malolactic fer-mentation, ageing on yeast lees was carried out to ma-ture and soften the wine prior to bottling.
Food Pairing: Fish, poultry and pasta with a light creamy sauce.
